Pearl Valley

Golf on Safari - Western Cape

Pearl Valley

In the heart of the Cape Winelands, Jack Nicklaus' masterpiece in Franschoek was home to last year's SA Open. Visually spectacular, a round is played against the backdrop of the surrounding mountains. Fast greens, shallow bunkers and the criss-crossing creek will test your nerve and ability.

Steenberg

Just outside Capetown, this hybrid course makes full use of natural features and hazards, including vineyards, pine forests and waterways. It's this diversity that gives the course its unique character.

Stellenbosch

Less than a driver and an 8 iron from the Ernie Els winery, this championship course has hosted the SA Masters and SA Open. The course is well protected from the wind; fortunate, as the tree-lined fairways are relatively narrow.

Erinvale

One of South Africa's first golf estates, Erinvale was home to the World Cup in 1996 and the SA Open in 2003 and 2004. The first half of the course is on the low, flat part of the estate, while the second nine holes are on higher, undulating ground, offering panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding hills.

The Arabella Estate (optional)

With its rolling fairways, deceptive bunkers and challenging water traps, it's little surprise that this Western Cape gem is one of the top clubs in South Africa. Home to the annual Nelson Mandela Invitational, it offers spectacular views across the Bot River lagoon.
