Ernie steps up his game in Callaway’s new shoes
Ernie's strong showing in the Volvo Champions, where he and Retief Goosen lost in a playoff to former Ernie Els & Fancourt Foundation member Branden Grace, brought to many golf fans' attention a brand new casual street-style golf shoe from Callaway. Ernie was that week wearing them for the first time in tournament play.
Called the ‘Callaway Del Mar' the soft, full-grain leather upper and padded insert provides maximum comfort while the moulded sole offers good grip.
"Lots of people have been writing into the website and asking me about these," says Ernie. "I first tried them a few months ago. They're made of soft leather and they're so comfortable to wear it's incredible. The Links at Fancourt is a long walking course and comfort is obviously important. The all round performance was very good."
The Callaway Del Mar shoe comes in four different colours - grey, black, white and brown. "I can't recommend them highly enough," adds Ernie. "You can basically put them on in the morning, drive to the golf course and walk straight on to the first tee."
