Els Club Dubai Auction Taking Bids
More than 200 golfers took part in a charity golf day at The Els Club Dubai on 27 February to help raise money for those affected by the tragic events in Haiti in January. The target is $100,000 and includes an auction whereby the public has until the end of March to bid on a range of items, including a portrait of Ernie by renowned artist Mark Edgar Thomas Robinson.
The wind was blowing hard across the Els Club Dubai's manicured fairways and greens, but the challenging conditions couldn't blow away the enthusiasm of the 200-plus golfers taking part. By mid-afternoon the weather had improved and soon more than 500 people were enjoying a Twilight Picnic and BBQ, with entertainment in the varied form of a live band, a DJ, jumping castles for the kids and a circus performer dazzling everyone with his flame throwing.
The event showcased The Els Club Dubai as a facility that lends its support to those in need. Moving forward the intention is to position the Els Club Dubai as a wonderful golfing experience and a fantastic place for families to spend their weekends together, but also a Club that holds golf days in aid of supporting various charities and worthy causes around the world.
