Meet the key personnel at the head of Ernie Els Design operations

Piet Pieters

Piet Pieters is Director of Client Services and is primarily responsible for Ernie Els Design in South Africa; he joins the company after a 25-year career working in the hospitality and golf industry.

Among Piet's previous high profile engagements were serving as Director of the Vail Metropolitan District in Vail, Colorado. During that time he was on the Vail Task Force & Special Events Committee, helping fulfil its goal to become and remain the number one ski resort in North America. It also became the first golf course in Colorado to receive Audubon certification.

Piet previously also managed the Aria Health and Spa, nominated as one of the top ten facilities in the United States by Conde Naste magazine. More recently, Piet opened and subsequently managed Oubaai Golf Club, the first Ernie Els Signature course to be constructed in South Africa.

Piet describes his new role as the dream job. "It's unbelievable," he commented a few months into his tenure. "We're really busy, but I'm loving every minute." Piet lives in George, South Africa, and has been married to his wife Robin for 21 years.
