Meet the key personnel at the head of Ernie Els Design operations

Louis Martin

Louis Martin has over 20 years experience in golf and has the unique distinction of being the only person to have headed two member organisations of the International Federation of PGA Tours. He initially worked in the mining industry, culminating in the formation of his own engineering business. In 1984 Louis opened a sports marketing and management company in South Africa, undertaking the logistical implementation and management of major tournaments on the Sunshine Tour.

In 1996 he was appointed International Director of Golf for Masters International in London where he was involved in sponsorship development and event consulting, as well as representation for professional golfers. Louis was then appointed Chief Executive to the Sunshine Tour in 1998 and he served in that role until 2003.

Louis first got to know Ernie when he was the leading amateur in the South African Open in the late 1980s. He is now based in Singapore and handles the business interests for ISM, Ernie's golf management group, and Ernie Els Design in Asia. He is a father of four and is a member of one of Johannesburg's oldest golf clubs, Parkview.
