Albany, New Providence Island, Bahamas

Albany is a new luxury resort community in The Bahamas being developed by Ernie Els, Tavistock Group and Tiger Woods. Albany features a wide array of amenities for the entire family to enjoy, including an Ernie Els designed 18-hole championship golf course and first-class practice facility also designed by Els.

Measuring more than 7,400 yards from ‘the tips’ this Els signature golf course consists five par-5s and five par-3s, with the remaining holes being par-4s. It will be very much in the links-style, featuring dunes not dissimilar to those found on some of the UK’s great coastal layouts.

Work on the Albany site is moving forward according to schedule. It is anticipated that the golf course will be fully grassed-out by the end of September 2009, perhaps the beginning of October, and that Albany will be ready for a ‘soft opening’ in the Spring of 2010.

Located on the western end of New Providence Island just seven minutes from Nassau’s international airport, the 565-acre oceanfront community includes a luxury boutique hotel, a mega-yacht marina handling yachts up to 240 feet, the Albany Beach Club, a family restaurant, an adult pool and lounge, water park, kids’ clubhouse, full-service Spa, state-of-the-art fitness center and an equestrian center. A range of residential offerings are available including cottages, custom home lots and marina residences.
